The Department of Statistics is looking to fill the position of Administrative Support Assistant to the Department Head. Duties include but are not limited to: manage complex calendar appointments and meetings that require coordination with multiple groups, manage documentation and records that may include sensitive information, manage critical deadlines, and assist with key projects as assigned. The position is responsible for managing dossiers for promotion and tenure, sabbatical leaves, AC-40 faculty five-year reviews, non-tenure line promotions, and award nominations. Manage all visa-related processes for faculty/visiting scholars/visiting interns to include: PERM, H1-B, J1, F1, and OPT coordination with Global Programs and in iStart to assure deadlines are met. Work with the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs for the visiting scholar documentation process. Manage, compose, proofread, edit, and follow up on correspondence, reports, letters, forms, surveys, web-updates, etc. Manage office-space records, plans, and resolve any related issues. Schedule, record minutes, and attend faculty and other meetings as needed. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, iStart, Activity Insight, PSU BOX, Adobe reader, Qualtrics, calendaring software, and PTORP preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, and a strong commitment to teamwork are required. The hours of this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
