Penn State Brandywine invites applications for a teaching line fixed-term faculty position Lecturer (Master’s level), or Assistant Teaching Professor (Doctoral level) of Business, (36 weeks contract, two-year appointment) with the option for renewal, to begin August 2020, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Teach four courses (12 credits) each semester of lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses in accounting using traditional and online delivery methods. This position entails teaching both for Penn State’s World Campus BSBIC Program and the Penn State Brandywine Business Program and the Project and Supply Chain Management Program. Courses delivered online to the World Campus and others face-to-face, hybrid and online to Penn State Brandywine. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening, online, and/or Saturday classes as needed. Courses may include tax, managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, finance, accounting information systems, auditing, among other additional courses in the major as needed. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Participate in professional organizations and engage in activities to stay current in the discipline. Qualifications: Lecturer qualifications include a minimum requirement of a Master`s degree in Accounting. The Assistant Teaching Professor requires an earned Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting by position start date. A CPA credential is preferred in both position levels. Successful candidates should demonstrate the ability to integrate the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online modes of teaching. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred, as is industry experience. Candidates who enrich our diversity are strongly encouraged to apply.
