Penn State Berks (Reading, PA) invites applications for an open rank, full time, multi-year Fixed Term (non-tenure line) position in Electrical Engineering, beginning August 2020. Responsibilities: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic person with a background and ability to teach electrical discipline courses in the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering baccalaureate programs. Candidates should demonstrate the following abilities: to innovate and adopt various teaching methods in the classroom; develop and teach suitable labs; to use and integrate software for in-class instruction, homework and projects; and to involve and guide undergraduate students in applied projects. Possible course topics include: DC and AC circuits, PLCs, digital circuits, microprocessors and microcontrollers, motors and generators, 3-phase power, computers and networking, device interfacing, digital signal processing, automated control systems, and software programming. Additional responsibilities include student advising and service to the college and the profession. This position carries a teaching load of twelve contact hours per semester. Qualifications: Minimum of a master`s degree in electrical engineering or closely related discipline and three years of engineering experience in industry are required. Ph.D., professional licensure, and college-level teaching experience are preferred. Schedule: Applications will be accepted until this position is filled.
