Description

The Undergraduate Admissions Office has an immediate opening for a Functional Business Process Analyst who is eager to work alongside end users and a team of analysts to critically examine admissions processes and solve business and system issues. The primary purpose of this position is to improve existing and implement new undergraduate admissions business processes utilized throughout the entire admissions cycle which are critical to building a talented and diverse class across 21 Penn State undergraduate campuses. These processes leverage enterprise systems such as Slate (CRM), MyPennState, LionPATH (student information system), Docfinity, Mura content management, The Common Application, and Coalition Application. Primary responsibilities include: business process analysis and documentation; working with stakeholders to develop and review detailed functional specifications; system/application configuration; monitor, troubleshoot, debug and modify processes and procedures as needed; create detailed test plans and conduct testing; develop process and end user documentation; develop, modify and run reports and queries; work with external organizations, vendors, and other Penn State units to maintain the systems used by the Undergraduate Admissions Office; and other duties as assigned. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Penn State Undergraduate Admissions procedures; experience in eliciting business process requirements; ability to learn new concepts and processes quickly; excellent organizational and time management skills; strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills; ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with others at all levels of technical proficiency; capacity to understand and analyze data to recognize system or data anomalies/problems and take corrective actions. Knowledge of Slate or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is highly desirable. Experience in transfer credit articulation and processes to support transfer admission is a plus.
