Description

The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence is looking for an experienced Administrative Support Coordinator to manage its daily office operation. This position works closely with the Executive Director and the Business & Operations Director to create annual budgets, monitor/approve expenses, and ensure compliance with University policies and endowment guidelines. They will initiate/approve HR transactions and work with confidential/sensitive material. This position is the primary point person for writing/editing, recruiting, and managing web content for three websites. They will also collaborate with other communication outlets for press and publicity. They serve as the Institute’s facilities liaison and parking chair. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Able to exercise independent judgment and work without direction; power user for Excel, PowerPoint, Word – able to both compile and present in these platforms and to make good decisions on which application to use; communicate with tact, understand discretion and confidentiality, and excellent interpersonal skills; exercise initiative and independent judgment to perform multiple projects and special assignments that involve sensitive problems or information; strong understanding of and familiarity with Penn State’s financial/HR systems and policies and procedures. Experience with Penn State systems (IBIS, iTwo, ERS, eBuy, Workday), and in-depth familiarity with Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) strongly preferred. Prior supervisory experience is required. Candidates should include writing sample(s) with application materials.
