Penn State Lehigh Valley office of Community Outreach and Engagement is looking to hire an Education Program Associate. This position will work with existing staff to develop and support Pre-College and Nursing Education Programs offered on campus and our off-site location. The Program Associate will be responsible for developing, administering and supporting a wide variety of education and training programs including youth development, summer camps and the Licensed Practical Nursing program. Collaborate with local agencies and secure funding for programs targeting high school youth delivered throughout the academic year. In addition, develop and grow summer camps targeting youth in grades 2 – 12. Work with campus faculty, staff to develop program content, secure resources, both human and material, that will ensure success. This position will also be responsible for supporting for the LPN program at Penn State Lehigh Valley. This includes but is not limited to, supporting effective marketing plans to grow the program, interviewing potential students and provide ongoing advisory support throughout the program. We seek candidates with excellent communication skills who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, and able to multi-task. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The ideal candidate will have excellent computer skills and be experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). The position also requires occasional evening and weekend work. This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from hire date with excellent possibility of re-funding.
