Description

Needs working knowledge of grant submissions from start to finish, particularly National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Heart Association (AHA) and internal grants for research faculty. Including budget development and personnel information. Coordinate applications, forms and meet deadlines for submission of final drafts. Collaborate with investigator/physicians & Research Affairs. Manuscript preparation including bibliography formatting & submission to scientific journals. Research information, prepare charts and illustrations, compute and tabulate data, prepare summaries. Knowledge of NIH Public Access Submission and My NCBI. Working knowledge of IBIS, SIMS, Cayuse, eraCommons, ERS. Maintain Outlook calendars for research faculty. Use of Purchasing Card for authorized travel, office supplies and miscellaneous other purchases. Assist with routine travel arrangements for faculty and post-docs through ERS. Plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee daily office activities. Serve as receptionist or first-line liaison to internal and external contacts and provide general office support. Compose letters, memos, and reports. Research and compile background material for meetings; develop agendas, and schedules. Resolve complex inquiries and ensure compliance with work unit and/or University policies and procedures. Assist supervisor with the resolution of issues or conflicts by investigating/researching issues and making recommendations. Establish work unit procedures for handling and maintaining confidential materials. Assistance in preparing PowerPoint presentations for research faculty. Oversee work unit files, records, databases and reports; ensure University records and retention guidelines are met. Coordinate collection of data for annual or periodic reports, grants, etc. Research information, prepare charts and illustrations, compute and tabulate data, prepare summaries. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed term appointment funded one year from date of hire with the possibility of refunding.
