Description

The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education is looking for a Financial Assistant to help support financial operations. Main responsibilities are to process and submit financial documents in IBIS and ERS, reconcile purchasing card purchases to departmental budgets, and reconcile departmental budgets in system. Process check deposits according to University procedures. Prepare, process, and obtain signatures on appropriate budget forms with College and University system. Create and distribute budget reports to faculty department manager and department head. Work with college financial officer and others in the college to resolve budget issues. Assist staff and faculty in supported units with inquiries, resolve problems. Perform data entry duties, file and/or image documents. Assist with office management tasks: answer phone, greet visitors, maintain keys and records for department car, provide back-up to other areas in the unit, assist with ERS entries. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent working knowledge of University budget systems (IBIS, ERS, eBuy), budget procedures, and Microsoft Office programs preferred. Candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding. This is a 75% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Will work 30 hours per week.
