Description

The Penn State Hershey Department of Surgery/Division of Outcomes Research and Quality is seeking to hire a full-time Proposal and Award Generalist 1 who is detail oriented and will assist and advise faculty and residents on obtaining special approvals for human subjects, animal care, invention disclosures, patents, and copyrights. They will also assist faculty with manuscript and grant submissions to provide divisional cross coverage of duties. Database entry and maintenance is included using Access and Redcap. This position may distribute funding opportunities, prepare IAFs, and provide back up support for all Department of Surgery Human Research Technologists who are managing IRBs with their divisional faculty. Systems in use include Microsoft Office suite, SIMS, ESSIC, CATS, Redcap, and Adobe Professional and EndNote. Ability to manage multiple projects and work with various faculty members simultaneously is necessary for success in this position. Medical terminology knowledge helpful. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a fixed-term appointment funded one year from date of hire with possibility of re-funding.
