Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus invites applications for a faculty position, Assistant Professor of Corporate Communications, (Tenure-Track, 36 weeks) to begin August 2020, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Teach three courses (9 credits) each semester of lower- and upper-division courses in corporate communication, which may include separate classes in basic speech (individual or group), business and professional communication, introduction to corporate communication, social media in corporate communication, communication design for writers, risk and crisis in corporate communication, strategic speaking, public relations; event planning, or internship. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Publish in refereed journals. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, University, and community service activities. Qualifications: Ph.D. in corporate communication, communication or a closely related field is required. Prior teaching, research, and professional experience required; professional certification (Communication Management Professional/IABC or Accreditation in Public Relations/PRSA) will be viewed favorably. ABD candidates will be considered if there is a clear completion date before August 1, 2020. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected, as is an interest in active and collaborative learning that integrates innovative uses of technology. Experience with hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Evidence of potential in research and publication is expected. An ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the University is required.
