Description

The Supervisor for Special Education will be a part-time academic position for Spring Semester 2020. Responsibilities include observing undergraduate student teachers in special education settings in Altoona Area School District; conferring with mentor teachers; grading student work; viewing and giving feedback on video recorded work; attending supervisor meetings at University Park; conducting a weekly seminar for perspective teachers; conducting three-way evaluation conferences with the pre-service teachers; and assigning a final grade for the course. Required Qualifications: Certification in Special Education is necessary as well as 5 years of successful work in teaching or administrative/supervisory experience. Experience in special education programs and knowledge and experience using explicit instruction is strongly preferred. Child Abuse, PA Criminal, and FBI Clearances must be obtained prior to the first day of work.
