The College of Engineering Finance Office is seeking multiple Financial Coordinators to work closely with departmental administrative and college financial staff. These positions are being offered due to promotions and in preparation for the University’s migration to a new financial system, SIMBA, which provides a unique opportunity to join the College of Engineering Finance Team as part of this transition. These positions will collaborate with the rest of the college in learning, implementing and acting as a knowledge leader and change champion during this transition. The Financial Coordinators support assigned departments in an approval role based on delegated authority from the Financial Officer for all financial transactions including payments, purchase orders, cost and labor transfers, reimbursements, and various financial reconciliations. Provide assistance with problem solving to ensure continuous flow of operations to support the college’s mission of teaching, research and service. One of these positions will function as the Purchasing Card Coordinator for the College; another position will serve as the primary approver and processor of cash receipt reports for the College. Financial Coordinators approve Workday HR forms for assigned departments as well as posting and adjusting salaries, supplemental pay, graduate assistantships, and fellowships using the labor distribution system. Work with assigned units to verify availability of funds to support all expenditures, and to assure compliance with University and external sponsor policies. Will review/approve travel and event reimbursements and purchase orders in eBuy+ for assigned units. Initial review/approval of cost transfers for salaries, wages and all other expenses including income. Serve as backup for other Financial Coordinators. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred knowledge of the University’s financial and other related policies and procedures. Completion of ACES, or similar research/contract administration course, is a plus, as is experience with IBIS, Concur (ERS), SAP S/4HANA, iTwo, FIT, SIMS, eBuy, LionPATH, and Workday. Successful candidates must be highly motivated and exhibit a high degree of professionalism and initiative. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required. Attention to detail and good judgement are vital requirements, as well as the ability to work within a team environment, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences. Excellent computer skills including MS Office, and Outlook is desired. Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis until all positions are filled.
