Description

The Maker-in-Residence program seeks motivated undergraduate students interested in 3D printing and rapid prototyping to help other students in the Maker Commons at the Pattee Library. Operated by Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT), the Maker Commons provides access to and training for students and faculty using 3D printers, simple 3D modeling, 3D scanning, as well as rapid prototyping using littleBits, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi. Successful Makers-in-Residence will harvest and maintain 3D printers, provide one-on-one consultations for students learning to use 3D printers, demonstrate creative uses of the technology, and act as ambassadors for the use of innovative new maker technologies in education. Makers-in-residence should be available to work 6 - 10 hours per week and have a strong interest in 3D modeling and 3D printing. Experience with 3D printing not required, training on technology is provided. Evening and weekend availability may be preferred. Interested students should submit a cover letter and resume including examples of their work.
