Description

The Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education is seeking a Financial Assistant 4 who will be responsible for the daily financial operations of the Department and serve as the lead in the finance office. This position will assist the Administrative Manager in overseeing all accounts and prepare financial reports. Main responsibilities include monitor budgets and anticipate and initiate actions; assist in preparation of various reports as requested by the College; coordinate processing of all financial documents; determine funding and ensure accuracy and adherence to University policies and procedures; approve documents. Manage department purchasing card requests, processes, and autoposts; function as purchasing card reconciler to include a review of supporting documentation. Act as liaison between the Department and the College Administrative office for inquiries and to resolve financial problems. Serve as proxy to Administrative Manager to approve financial and Human Resources documents; act as a timekeeper in Workday for all part-time employees. Train staff in financial operations and procedures. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent working knowledge of University financial systems and accounting procedures is preferred. The candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment, so time management skills are essential. Also requires excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work with little supervision in a team environment.
