As an Intern in Penn State’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR), you can play an integral role in one of the most respected and successful fundraising operations in the country. Penn State is one of only a dozen public institutions nationwide to complete a $2 billion fundraising campaign, and our alumni association is the largest dues-paying organization of its kind in the world. This success depends not only on our strong institutional culture of philanthropy, but also upon the more than 400 DDAR staff members whose professionalism and expertise set the standard in the field. The DDAR internship is a 40 hours-a-week, paid position, a full-time commitment. With Penn State in the middle of an ambitious capital campaign, interns can expect meaningful projects within a development unit, donor and senior leadership interaction, emphasis on personal and career skill development. This is an ideal experience for those seeking exposure to a career in philanthropy. Prior experience with philanthropy is not required, but candidates should possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and contribute to Penn State’s mission. Candidates should possess the skills required to interact and build relationships with the diverse internal and external stakeholders the comprise the Penn State community. Applications will be accepted until January 2, 2020. If selected to move on, first round interviews will be held January 28-30, 2020 at University Park campus or by video chat. All applicants will be notified of final decisions by March 6, 2020. The eleven-week program will begin on May 12, 2020 and conclude on July 24, 2020.
