Enrollment Services Specialist (Student Transfer Credit Specialist)

Our team is growing! Student Transfer Credit Specialists are primarily responsible for evaluating courses taken at other institutions to fulfill Penn State degree requirements. Transfer Credit Specialists research student cases and make recommendations for course substitutions to college partners, ensuring the integrity of the academic degree at all times. Transfer Credit Specialists are responsible for staying current with any academic changes to their assigned degrees. This position will also assist with the weekly new student list, create check sheets for students, assign academic advisers, and prepare electronic student folders. This job will be filled as a level 1, or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Competencies critical for success include: ability to build strong relationships with students and academic and campus partners; exceptional problem solving, analytical, and customer service skills; commitment to team; follow-through and attention to detail; comfort working in a large, rapidly changing organization; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and experience with MS Word, Excel, e-mail and Web technologies. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
