The successful candidate will be a designer, a filmmaker, and/or a creative maker with a passion for teaching, strong organizational abilities, an interest in storytelling, and outgoing networking skills. Responsibilities include collaborating with faculty to create new multimedia-focused assignments and projects, coordinating the schedules of full-time and student wage consultants across four University Park lab locations, maintaining a growing slate of class workshop opportunities, and advocating to faculty and strategic partners for the use of emerging media technology as a critical component of the classroom. Responsibilities will also include overseeing the Pattee Library Media Commons and the Maker Commons 3D printing service and Invention Studio, hiring and supervising student wage staff, collaborating with other members of the Media Commons team on providing consultative services to faculty and students on the appropriate application of media technologies like video and audio creation, use of the One Button Studio, 3D printing, immersive 360° video, and supporting Adobe Creative Cloud with an emphasis on Spark, XD, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Rush and more. The Media Commons Coordinator will provide 1-on-1 consultations for students and faculty learning to produce academic-focused media with an emphasis on storytelling and narrative, demonstrate creative uses of technology, and teach workshops in a classroom environment. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and will be located in the Pattee Library at University Park. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A professional attitude, the ability to work independently and creatively, and strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a proactive-approach to customer service are required.
