The Department of Statistics, in the Eberly College of Science, is seeing to hire a Financial Assistant to provide management of all departmental budgets to include calculating and posting financial data; working with cost centers within budgets. Prepare and process reimbursements using ERS; monitor accounts and provide a wide variety of financial reports with the use of automated systems. Reconcile departmental purchase card transactions. Gather, prepare and/or verify information/data for various reports; maintain and update databases, records and files. Process wage payroll appointments in Workday. Act as the department’s facilities contact submitting all work order requests, phone requests, and furniture orders. Provide assistance for yearly Astrostatistics Summer School. May answer/screen telephone calls, greet visitors, provide information and refer; provide backup for other department office staff. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills critical. Knowledge of University policies and procedures, and experience with IBIS, ERS, Excel, Word, FIT, and iTwo strongly preferred. Candidate should possess a strong commitment to customer service.
