Penn State Human Resources is seeking a Human Resource Assistant position in the Talent Management department. This department delivers performance management and professional development services university-wide. This position supports programs and services that have a University-wide impact on faculty, staff, and volunteers. The successful candidate will assist with coordination and logistics for talent management programs. In addition, the position will assist with and support project logistics that involve staff, learning partners, and clients. Additional, duties include updating website schedules, creating sessions in the Learning Management Systems (LMS), managing client registrations, room reservations, ordering materials, generating program evaluations and arranging catering services. Other job duties include website monitoring, tracking participant attendance, logging and formatting instructional materials for talent management sessions and tasks and other responsibilities to help support the unit initiatives. The successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism; sensitivity in handling confidential information; strong attention to detail; ability to interpret and communicate information, ideas and instructions clearly, accurately both verbally and in writing including materials intended for distribution; excellent customer service skills; the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies; the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task; commitment to provide quality deliverables with accuracy; ability to utilize and skilled in Microsoft Office Site, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; familiarity with project management; The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, both oral and written. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Preferred skills in addition to minimum requirements include: Bachelor's degree and additional years of experience; past experience with Learning Management Systems; Cornerstone; employee engagement and survey software (i.e. Qualtrics) and coordinating projects; knowledge of Adobe Connect and ZOOM; advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; and ability to apply creative thinking to develop new solutions to streamline processes or tasks. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
