The Pennsylvania State University Human Resources (HR) department is seeking a Records Specialist with strong customer service, attention to detail, problem solving, and communication skills to join the Records Management team. This position is responsible for assisting in the transition from paper to electronic storage of Official Employee Personnel files, responding to employee requests for records, processing agent requests, resolving routine records related issues, preparing, processing, updating, compiling and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive records and information, gathering information from records to draft emails, memos and other documents in compliance with office, University, state and federal regulations/policy, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must demonstrate sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential records; attention to detail; flexibility; and an ability to work effectively and professionally with a large number of individuals representing units across the University. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
