The Black School of Business of Penn State Erie, The Behrend College is seeking qualified applicants for a non-tenure track, renewable, fixed-term position starting August 2020 with a focus on Supply Chain Management and the ability to teach introductory courses in statistics and project management. Depending on the qualifications, candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of lecturer or assistant teaching professor. Required qualifications include: Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Master’s in Engineering, or related fields, evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching, and evidence of a commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Record of relevant industry experience, online teaching experience, and background in ERP systems such as SAP are desirable. The Black School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, listed among the Best Business Schools by Princeton Review and offers 9 undergraduate majors, a residential MBA delivered at two locations, a Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc), and an online Master of Project Management (MPM) program, distinctive programs in the country, and an International Business degree, which also allows students to specialize in a functional area such as business economics or finance. The Black School of Business occupies a new $30 million facility with the School of Engineering providing a basis for multi-disciplinary educational experience for students, interdisciplinary research for faculty, and joint opportunities for industry engagement. The $20 million endowment, market value of which is approximately $32 million today, provides significant support for the School’s programs. The endowment helps fund undergraduate scholarships, graduate assistantships, library and information technology resources, outreach activities, several faculty chairs and endowed professorships, as well as new programming initiatives. Teaching Responsibilities: Teaching assignments may include a combination of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching responsibilities will include both on-line and residential instruction. Specific teaching assignments may include introductory courses in business statistics and introductory and advanced courses in supply chain management and project management. Salary: Commensurate with academic preparation and experience, and competitive with other AACSB-accredited business schools for similar positions. Location: Students and faculty enjoy the beauty of the college’s 725-acre campus, located only minutes away from the heart of Pennsylvania’s fourth-largest city. Metropolitan Erie is a major industrial service center with a population of approximately 280,000 and is the home of several major corporations. Erie, as well as Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh – all within two hours by interstate highway – provide excellent consulting opportunities as well as recreational and cultural activities.
