Description

The Complex System Engineering and Monitoring Applications Engineering Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking an entry level Platform Systems Engineer to assist in the development of electro-mechanical prototype systems that include embedded data collection and analysis systems, vehicle electronic control systems, and hardware in-the-loop systems. Responsibilities include: Provide technical support for data collection from a variety of vehicle and industrial applications in remote environments; assist in field data collection using specialized test equipment to collect sensor data; and maintain computers and data collection equipment. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (Professional Engineer license accepted in lieu of Bachelor's degree) or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is desired. Preferred experience areas include: Programmable logic controllers and the ability to format uploaded data to servers for reporting and analysis. Required experience areas include: Sensors, mechanical systems, electrical instrumentation, general digital devices, and computer programming. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation. You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
