Description

Penn State Abington is seeking a Digital Content Specialist for the Office of Strategic Communications and Community Engagement. This position reports to the Associate Director of Strategic Communications and Community Engagement. Primary responsibilities include: Social media management, multimedia digital content creation and analytics reporting in accordance with the Penn State Abington communications and social media strategy. This position will support brand development and stewardship through thoughtful, strategic content creation and social media management; collaborate with the graphic designer and writer to source content and create an engaging social media presence across channels and audiences; and provide guidance on social media best practices and emerging digital trends. Qualified candidates must possess superior understanding of technology, strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong relationship-building skills. Proven project management skills are essential as is the ability to meet deadlines, juggle competing priorities, and interface with a wide variety of constituents on a daily basis. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience is preferred. Experience in branded social media management is strongly preferred. The position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills and will interact closely with other departments to ensure representation of the entire campus community. Position requires the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
