Description

The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS) has a long, rich history and today is internationally recognized for extraordinary research, teaching and service. Embedded as part of the EMS Dean’s office team, the Administrative Support Assistant 2 is part of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations staff responsible for alumni engagement and raising private funds from a variety of constituents. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: greeting visitors, supporting the Director with travel planning, maintaining calendar, composing and formatting letters, proofreading and editing documents, creating itineraries, and maintaining two separate budgets. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office expected. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of AWA, ERS, and eSteward along with additional Penn State software programs preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the following behaviors/skills: professionalism with a high commitment to customer service; interpersonal/communication skills; the ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team; organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage and prioritize concurrent projects; and the ability to exercise discretion and judgement while managing confidential material.
