Penn State Wilkes-Barre invites applications for a Lecturer (master level) or Assistant Teaching Professor (doctoral level) of Project and Supply Chain Management. This is a full-time (36-week), fixed term, one-year appointment with an excellent possibility of reappointment. The initial appointment begins August 2020. Responsibilities: Teach four courses (approximately 12 credits) each semester to students in the BS in Business and newly developed BS degree in Project Supply Chain Management (PSCM) and SAP certification. Courses will include introductory and advanced project management such as Project Planning and Portfolio Management. Provide leadership at the campus for the program. Course delivery will use both traditional face-to-face and non-traditional delivery methods including, but not limited to, video-conferencing, online delivery and accelerated formats. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and shared program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Involve students in undergraduate research activities. Participate in campus, University, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline. Masters of Science /Masters of Business Administration in supply chain management, logistics, or closely related field; DBA/Ph.D. preferred. ABD will be considered if significant evidence of completion by August 2020 is provided. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of and experience in logistics and project management and in one or more of the following: purchasing, transportation, warehousing, and operations management. Proficiency in the use and instruction of SAP is strongly preferred. Commitment to high quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is expected. Significant industry experience and prior college-level experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important. Penn State Wilkes-Barre is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses statewide. It is a student-centered campus of approximately 500 students; about 20% are adult learners. Nine baccalaureate degrees are offered as well as the coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors. Students and faculty at Penn State Wilkes-Barre have all of the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere with a low student/faculty ratio.
