Description

The College of Arts and Architecture is seeking a highly motivated Information Technology (IT) professional with strong customer service skills to provide consultative IT assistance to faculty, staff, and students. As a member of our Service Desk team, the successful candidate must have knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems, Office 365 and Adobe Creative Could, and have excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and communications skills. Our Service Desk is responsible for the IT needs of roughly 350 faculty and staff, plus students, in diverse and specialized teaching and research environments for the design, performance, and visual arts disciplines. Customer support services include implementation, diagnosing, user assistance, training, documentation and mentorship of student and/or part time employees. We’re looking for a team player who is able to effectively analyze system issues and assist our customers with policy compliance. A familiarity with endpoint management tools like BigFix, network and cybersecurity fundamentals, Office 365 software (specifically email and calendaring), and general service desk operations will give you an edge, but so will a proven ability to learn the mechanics of an IT system and apply that learning to a thorough resolution. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
