IT Project Manager

The Office of Physical Plant Information Technology Services is seeking a Project Manager to join a highly successful project management office (PMO). The IT Project Manager (PM) will work as part of a PMO and scope will include IT and business initiatives aimed at providing key solutions towards addressing the various goals and operations of the Office of Physical Plant. Projects typically incorporate the review and modification of existing business processes and therefore require effective integration of organizational change management techniques and resources. The PM must be able to manage projects across business and technology domains and use appropriate project methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc.) as needed. The PM’s must be able to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders under difficult time constraints. Therefore, the PM requires excellent communication, influence, analytical, and problem-solving skills to orchestrate successful project teams under these conditions. The PM will work with business analysts, business relationship managers, and organizational change management professionals. The PM will contribute to improving the project, portfolio, and resource management capabilities of the PMO and the units it supports as well as contributing to the university-level transformation initiatives. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. PMP certification is highly desired. Experience with a PMIS (e.g. Workfront) is preferred. Relevant private and public sector experience is welcome. Experience with portfolio and resource management is a plus.
