Description

The Physical Security Office, in University Police and Public Safety, is seeking a University Access Specialist. We are in search of candidates with experience in the administration of electronic access control and keys who can provide oversight of the University personnel managing access to their respective facilities. The primary role is to assure that hundreds of University ‘Access Coordinators’ are in compliance with all Policies and procedures and security best practices relating to access management of their facilities. Responsibilities include: providing administrative oversight of University Access Coordinators for all Commonwealth locations; assuring that University keys are managed, administered, and stored properly; assuring proper procedures are followed regarding electronic access provisioning; coordination of facility exterior door locking and unlocking schedules with Access Coordinators, Office of Physical Plant (OPP), and University Police; assuring Access Coordinators are performing policy required audits; performing Physical Security Office spot audits of Access Coordinators to assure policy compliance; administering software relating to keys and university access clearances; administration of University Lost and Found keys and ID cards; assuring conformance with University key coring strategies; providing final vetting of all key requests for master, grandmaster, sub-master, and ‘special’ keys; administration of user access to key request software and access control software; provide user training on electronic access and key control software; and other duties associated with oversight of University Access Coordinator responsibilities and their compliance to Policies/procedures and observance of security best practices. The position will be housed in the Physical Security Office of University Police and Public Safety. This position will report to the University Access Manager who falls under the Director of Physical Security. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Federal background check will be required.
