Penn State Outreach and Online Education is looking for a highly motivated and experienced .NET application developer. The successful candidate should enjoy solving problems and providing solutions in a collaborative environment. Keeping an open mind, exploring new technologies that solve challenges and offer quality solutions to clients is key to this position. Responsibilities include planning, design, programming and implementation of web based application solutions, and databases. Will work in an agile environment that continuously promotes growth, knowledge and drive to success. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have strong data analysis skills, identify and solve problems independently, handle sensitive data professionally, have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. The ideal candidate should be able to draw from previous experience to demonstrate competency in the following required skills: Design and delivery of .NET web applications according to functional specifications. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize with limited supervision. Ability to assess and identify potential system enhancements based on business objectives, software performance, etc. Must have experience developing applications leveraging ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, C#, SQL and JavaScript. Experience with Telerik UI controls, CI/CD, DevOps, Git, Jenkins, and/or cloud technologies is a plus. We seek candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and the ability to advance Outreach’s diversity initiative. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with good possibility of re-funding.
