Description

The part-time Publicity Assistant will work with the Penn State University Press Associate Marketing Director to ensure the Press and our publications are properly and effectively publicized and promoted to core audiences, ranging from academic libraries to scholars, researchers, and the general public. Specific duties include: assisting with organizing and mailing seasonal materials to media, including advance readers copies, letters, and catalogs; assisting with review copy mailings, including printing mailing labels and flyers and delivering materials to business office; maintaining records of media requests for review copies, review copy shipments, and upcoming award deadlines; assembling samples and other promotional materials for web; drafting flyers for new and backlist books; and scheduling and posting to social media according to social media schedule and style guidelines. This position is a great opportunity for a motivated Penn State student to learn about book publishing and gain valuable publicity experience.
