The Undergraduate Admissions Office seeks a detailed-oriented individual for a Records position on the Admissions Services and Evaluation Team. The primary responsibilities of the position include the processing and evaluation of applications and documents which are essential in the accurate evaluation for undergraduate admission to Penn State. Duties may include the following: monitor, review, and process mail and email communications; examine communication materials for accuracy and update as required; create and maintain electronic files, evaluate and index documents; manage the status of applications through queries and reports, evaluate and analyze applications and high school records and update as appropriate; identify and resolve various non-routine record problems; assist with the fee collection process; assist admissions counselors, campus staff and other offices to locate and resolve issues with student records; support other functional areas of the Undergraduate Admissions Office, as required. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Box, DocFinity, and Slate is preferred. The ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential. Attention to detail, discretion with confidential data, strong customer service, organization, problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, administrators, applicants, students and high school counselors by telephone, in person and in writing are required. The position will require flexibility to learn and adapt to new software programs and solve problems and in a changing environment. Candidates are required to submit cover letter and resume for a complete application. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
