Description

The qualifications for this position include a strong GPA in college coursework (3.0 or better); second semester student or later; excellent communication skills; flexibility with regard to work environment; openness to training and skills development; ability to work with students one-on-one and in small groups; ability to work with faculty/staff in collaboration; Ability to follow directives; availability to work at least 2 hours per week during academic year. Responsibilities include develop a full working knowledge of academic skills development materials and strategies; participate in outreach activities (e.g. presenting information regarding study skills and academic support); other duties as assigned. Learning Outcomes: increase leadership abilities; demonstrate the ability to work with diverse groups of people; improve problem-solving skills through improved subject knowledge; improve communication skills; develop strategies to improve student self-sufficiency; improve general learning skills.
