Description

Penn State World Campus is seeking an Event Strategy Manager to join our Brand Experience Team to lead the strategy and coordination of marketing events and trade shows for Penn State World Campus. As a member of the larger Brand Experience Team, this position will also contribute to the development of our annual brand marketing plan and other advertising and event strategies. This position is responsible for the research, strategy, and coordination of trade shows, promotional marketing events, and engagement events for the marketing strategy and sales teams as well as our other internal partners, including: researching available events and venues to find the best match for our target audiences; supplying the strategy for event location and materials and displays setup; overseeing the creation of impactful branded display materials; setting or recommending the necessary budgets for these events; monitoring expenditures and reconciling charges; analyzing post-event data to create status reports on event effectiveness; making strategic adjustments to future events based on the results of this data analysis; facilitating the necessary conference registrations and approval of contracts through risk management; arranging travel and accommodations; shipping all trade show assets and giveaway materials; maintaining relationships with internal partners, University Purchasing, University Licensing, as well as external vendors for trade show contacts, display materials, and giveaway items. This position is also responsible for the strategy, maintenance, and inventory control of all marketing collateral materials – brochures, printed handouts, and promotional giveaways, including: researching and ordering program- or department-specific promotional giveaway items; projecting inventory use and reorder timelines; maintaining and distributing inventory records; working with external fulfillment vendors. The successful candidate will report directly to the Associate Director for Brand Experience at Penn State World Campus, who manages the brand advertising, social media, and events team. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience planning and executing marketing or promotional events, with experience in trade show planning and execution strongly preferred; executing event contracts including exhibit space, furnishings, catering, etc.; researching event opportunities and venues; facilitating shipments and material handling of large items; booking travel for multiple team members through Concur or another corporate travel system; managing relationships with vendors and internal/external clients and partners; multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment; focusing on minute details; overseeing budgets and expenditures; analyzing event data; working as a part of a cross-functional team.
