Description

The Financial Reporting Department at The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking a Proposal Award Generalist (PAG) to perform post-award activities in a large volume, fast paced, and detailed environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide complex budgetary support to Principal Investigator's (PI's) as well as ARL Division and Department Heads; analyze and track program activities; expense data including expenditure classification; provide updates and track budget status via reports, spreadsheets, charts, or graphs; develop financial forecasts and Estimates to Complete budgets (ETC's); assist in the projections of financial status and advise decision makers of potential issues regards cost overruns, No Cost Extensions (NCE's), and/or policy and procedures; and assist with preliminary proposal budget preparation to include providing travel estimates and other non-labor backup as required. Additional duties may include: Manage subcontractor awards; and assist in the completion of all closeout procedures as necessary for timely financial close-out of sponsored projects. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management is desired. Experience is preferred in project management and project costing on government contracts. Experience requirements include: Accounting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation.
