Penn State Human Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist. This position will report to the Senior Director for Human Resources, Academic Units. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the Senior Director in the planning and developing of HR processes and procedures pertaining to the academic units, obtaining and preparing information for projects and initiatives, conducting in-depth research, and crafting documents and presentations to support the initiatives and committees to which the Senior Director is assigned. Organizing, compiling and analyzing data, and meeting deadlines will be critical to the research component of this role. The individual in this position works with the Workday Human Resources system and may input data, run reports, conduct periodic clean-up/audits as required. They will assist the Senior Director and collaborate with the Eberly College of Science HR Consultants. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are preferred. Knowledge and an understanding of the Human Resources function in higher education and a sensitivity in handling confidential information is required. The successful candidate must be highly organized and possess excellent communication (both verbal and written) and communication skills. They must be detail-oriented, have the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and demonstrate a genuine appreciation for working with diverse audiences.
