The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: responsible for accounting operations of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and its centers to include the general and restricted fund budgets. Maintain, reconcile and monitor budgets to ensure funds are expended correctly and within guidelines. Maintain balances and projections of various budgets. Monitor and audit accounts regularly. Assist faculty with research budgets. Process all travel effort cost share. Coordinate with other departments on split-appointments or special funding arrangements. Assist with updating and tracking of start-up accounts and category balances to ensure budget and expenditures are accurate. Prepare, process, monitor and approve financial documents and transactions in Penn State financial and human resources systems. Resolve purchasing card discrepancies and council card holders on violations. Verify and supervise the processing of wage-payroll and work-study appointments. Serve as backup to the Administrative Assistant as needed. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Extensive understanding of IBIS, ERS, FIT and Worklion/Workday is preferred. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication. Candidate must demonstrate professionalism with a high commitment to customer service; organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage and prioritize tasks with minimal direction; and exercise discretion and judgment while managing confidential information.
