Penn State Human Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resource Generalist to provide support to the Senior Director for Human Resources, Administrative Units, including The Office of the President’s Human Resource team. The Human Resource Generalist will be responsible for planning and executing HR programs and processes for the Administrative Units like performance management and merit increase, managing special projects along with assisting with the day-to-day operations of the office. Organizing, compiling, and analyzing data and workforce analytics will be a critical part of the role including charting trends, publishing a Human Resource dashboard, and creating reports for various Human Resource compliance requirements. The Human Resource Generalist will assist with resolving employee Human Resource related requests and inquiries, develop the Office of the President’s Human Resource communications plan and coordinate with department management and employees. This position works with the Workday Human Resource system and will input data entry into Workday, provide maintenance and administration of the system, run reports and conduct periodic clean-up/audits as required, and serve as backup for Neocase. The Human Resource Generalist will assist managers and Human Resource staff with Workday inquires when necessary and act as a liaison between employees, departments and Human Resources. Performs other duties as assigned. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the Human Resource function and sensitivity in handling confidential information is required. The successful candidate must possess excellent customer service, communication (both verbal and written), and organizational skills, must be conscientious and detail-oriented, have the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and demonstrate a genuine appreciation in working with diverse audiences.
