Outreach’s Penn State Professional and Community Engagement Finance Office is searching for a Hiring Coordinator. What does it take to succeed in this position? If this sounds like you, then we encourage you to apply. In this position, you will work in a partnership to coordinate and support the hiring of part-time staff for multiple units. You will collaborate with various partners to be successful during the high volume timeframe (March – August). This position will be responsible for entering data into WorkLion (Penn State’s Human Resource system), tracking part-time hiring status in Excel, communicating with various people, providing assistance in regards to hiring, answer questions, problem solving, and resolving pay issues. This position will be the Lead Hiring person, who will create and streamline processes, distribute workload, and process all financial requests in relation to hires. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills in data entry, coordinating and communicating various data, dealing with a variety of customers, both internal and external, and process improvement. The ability to manage multiple projects, excellent communication skills, general computer knowledge, attention to detail, teamwork, and organization are critical to the Hiring Coordinator’s success. Knowledge of Penn State’s hiring process, WorkLion/Workday and IBIS are desired. We value candidates who are forward thinking, open-minded and flexible. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
