The Penn State College of Engineering is searching for a full-time Graphic Design Multimedia Specialist to create engaging and on-brand graphics as part of the communications and marketing office, supporting the college and the engineering departments. The successful candidate will report to the creative director, can communicate effectively, and enjoys working as part of a team. Responsibilities include assisting with design execution of editorial publications (magazines, newsletters, etc), marketing collateral (brochures, flyers, signage, etc), digital (web, presentations, social media graphics, direct email template, electronic signage, video motion graphics), and production (vendor communications for printing, promotional items, and signage). Additional responsibilities include conceptualizing visuals based on requirements; preparing rough drafts and presenting ideas; implementing edits; working with strategists and creative director to produce final designs; testing graphics across various media; and ensuring final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The desired candidate will have a degree in design, fine arts, or a related field and additional years of more years of graphic design experience. Candidate should have experience working with print and production vendors to oversee quality control and ensure that deadlines and budget considerations are met. Candidate should have working knowledge of web content management systems and will assist with on-going updates to the many sites maintained by the college. Candidates should be creative, driven, detail-oriented and demonstrate effective verbal communication skills. Candidate must be organized and comfortable handling multiple projects at a time with quick turnaround to support the high volume of work needed across the college. Candidates should be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign as well as the Microsoft suite, specifically PowerPoint. Experience in photography, videography, online email applications, and web design a plus. The ability to follow Penn State guidelines and web standards as well as a commitment to fulfilling assignments on time and on strategy is a must. A portfolio is required for consideration. This is a fixed-term position with excellent possibility of refunding.
