Description

Penn State World Campus and Penn State Outreach are seeking an experienced Marketing Analyst to provide support and analysis of website properties and marketing efforts. As a member of the Marketing Analytics and Market Research team, the successful candidate will work with a talented team of marketing analysts, market research analysts, marketing and web strategists, web developers, and CRM specialists. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: building and customizing reports in Google Analytics, creating filters, building segments, campaign tagging, and tracking marketing campaigns, troubleshooting Google Analytics implementations, coordinating data layer requirements, analyzing website’s key performance metrics and trends, analyzing and interpreting Google Analytics data, troubleshooting web behavior with Google Analytics, and helping to build and analyze A/B and usability tests. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with JavaScript, SQL, R, and/or Python and using Google’s API or Shufflepoint for automating reporting in Excel is a plus. As with any role that works with data, the ability to develop clear and comprehensive documentation, focus on data quality, and use quality assurance best practices are critical. To be successful in this role, you should have strong technical and analytical abilities as well as the effortless ability to communicate effectively and to collaborate well with team members, stakeholders, and vendors. Self-motivation and the ability to handle multiple tasks while switching priorities and focus as needed is important as well. We are looking for a candidate with proven hands-on experience in marketing analytics. Expert-level experience with Google Analytics in high traffic and complex website environments, building and customizing reports, creating view filters, campaign tagging, and tracking methodologies, as well as advanced experience with Tag Management tools (such as Google Tag Manager) and HTML are required. We are looking for candidates with experience in the following tools and languages: A/B Testing and Usability Testing tools such as Google Optimize, Visual Website Optimizer, Optimizely or similar; Campaign Tracking tools such as TMMData, Campaign Trackly or similar; Web optimization and analytics tools such as CrazyEgg, Hotjar, or similar; Content Management Systems such as Drupal and Wordpress; Visualization tools such as Power BI and Data Studio. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
