The Office of Physical Plant - Facility Automation Services is in need of a Supervisor to the Utility Network Engineering Team. This team is part of the larger Facility Automation Services Organization and is a direct report to the Facility Automation Services Manager. The Utility Network Engineering Team manages over 300 servers, switches, and software that is the PSU Building Automation and Operations Technology. With the current and ever growing complexity of Building Automation Systems and the growing threat from cyber criminals, this position is a key leadership position that is paramount to the success of the department and ultimately the University. With the aggressive goals the University has set for itself in the area of energy reduction and carbon footprint reduction, the ongoing service and support of these system(s) that are at the center of that goal is the primary mission of this team. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. With the nature of this work, it is easy for individuals to be pulled in different and competing directions that have the tendency to stray away from the common goal that has been set forth by the Energy and Engineering Department. Therefore, strong leadership with a very high level of technical proficiency is required. The amount of work processed through the department and the very technical nature of that has set the very strict requirements of the role. Only candidates with a Master level understanding of Facility Operations and mission critical support roles and very strong skills in project management will be considered. A proven history of leading large exceptionally technical and high performing teams is a must have.
