Responsible to both the College of Agricultural Sciences(CAS) and the Division of Undergraduate Studies(DUS), this position will provide critical leadership for developing and maintaining the academic advising program within the College of Agricultural Sciences and will collaborate with the Division of Undergraduate Studies and its' formal advising network to promote consistent, high quality academic advising and advising information. In this capacity, the position will serve as lead college representative to many key offices that support student success at Penn State, including the coordination of New Student Orientation for the College of Agricultural Sciences. Through active engagement with DUS, this position also will help provide consistency in advising exploratory students across the campus and university. Both the Division of Undergraduate Studies and the College or Agricultural Sciences are particularly interested in individuals with a broad and comprehensive understanding of contemporary higher education and the role of academic advising in fostering student success. Similarly, we seek an individual that can manage multiple tasks while also being able to foster or initiate creative thinking to further grow our programs and help undergraduates reach their academic goals. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher in an education or social science related discipline or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Expertise in student diversity and experience in college-level academic advising and/or teaching are strongly preferred.
