Description

The Penn State World Campus is seeking a progressive thinking Financial Analyst to join our team. The Penn State World Campus is one of the leading providers of online higher education in the United States with over 20,000 students studying in its nationally ranked academic degree programs. The World Campus is fully integrated into Penn State using the same faculty and academic curriculum that is used in resident study. This financial analyst role will support a number of our operational and student-support units with a combined annual budget of approximately $20M. This position will work with unit leaders to assist in developing targets, planning expenditures, and developing measurements for achievement of goals and unit performance. Additional responsibilities will also include the development of metrics and reporting related to World Campus staffing, preparation and analysis of ad hoc financial reports used for strategic business decisions, identify and correct financial anomalies, reporting and analysis of World Campus gift and endowment funds, quarterly forecasting and serve as the primary financial point of contact for the assigned units. The successful candidate will possess a high degree of financial acumen and possess excellent collaborative and communication skills in order to interact with and lead cross-functional teams and communicate directly with leadership. This job will be filled as a level 2 or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. The candidate must be able to perform complex financial analysis within Microsoft Excel and preferably have experience using Access/SQL for data queries. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
