Description

The Watershed Ecohydrology and Biogeochemistry Lab in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at the Pennsylvania State University is hiring a Watershed Technician. The position entails collecting detailed field measurements and water quality samples, programming dataloggers, and installing and maintaining a variety of sensors. In addition, the position requires detailed geospatial analysis including advanced terrain analysis and flowpath mapping. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Masters is preferred. Experience in a field related to watershed science is required. Successful candidates should be able to carry 50 lbs. with or without accommodation over uneven and steep terrain, safely operate in remote conditions, maintain a good disposition in adverse conditions, and work well with others. This is a fixed term appointment for one year from date of hire with good possibility of refunding.
