Description

Responsible to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for answering all incoming telephone calls for the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Individuals in this position are front-facing and will be the first point of contact with the Undergraduate Admissions Office at Penn State. The ability to provide support in a calm and clear manner to callers regarding the application processes, majors, documentation requirements etc. is essential. The successful candidate will need to maintain confidentiality and professionalism of the highest standards. The willingness to learn and maintain the knowledge needed to handle questions for the upcoming admission seasons is crucial. This position will require a wide variety of knowledge of admission processes and the ability to clearly provide guidance to prospective and current students. Reviewing and updating student records, keeping clear documentation and participating in ongoing training will be necessary in this role. Regularly following up on phone calls from applicants and current students to provide the best customer service to callers is essential. Following Undergraduate Admissions policies and procedures is crucial in assuring students and families are receiving accurate information. Office processes are updated regularly which will require ongoing training to best serve our callers. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience and knowledge in LionPath, Docfinity, Slate, Microsoft Office is preferred.
