Description

The College of Engineering’s Office for Equity and Inclusion is seeking an energetic and experienced Administrative Support Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Associate Dean, including management of the operational activities of the Office; performing complex and confidential duties and responsibilities; resolving inquiries and ensuring compliance with University/Office policies and procedures; coordinating and providing support for committees, councils, and the Advisory Board for the Office of Equity and Inclusion; coordinating meetings, events and activities including travel arrangements for the Associate Dean; drafting, proofreading and editing correspondence; and ensuring schedules are maintained and deadlines are met. A successful candidate in this role will possess knowledge of and experience with budget maintenance, event management, human resources, and supervision. This position maintains extensive budget records and must have a thorough understanding of the University financial systems. Further staff hiring in the program is expected, and this position will involve supervision of support staff, which includes hiring, training, workload distribution, and performance management. The Administrative Support Coordinator ensures the highest quality management of events and activities and fosters good relations with internal and external partners by providing excellent customer service. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience and experience with WorkDay, IBIS, LionPATH, and ERS are preferred. This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as well as professionalism and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate a genuine appreciation for working with diverse audiences and capacity to support a working environment that respects differences in culture, age, gender, race, ethnicity, physical ability, sexual orientation, and religious affiliation. Proficiency with standard computer applications and programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, email, calendaring, and file management is required. Candidate must be able to handle duties independently and maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues.
