Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, is currently recruiting for a Multimedia Specialist to work with the Pennsylvania-sponsored curriculum development program for statewide law enforcement education. This position is housed in the Center for Community and Public Safety, which is part of the Office of Outreach and Continuing Education. Located in southwestern Pennsylvania, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus is part of a multi-campus public research university enjoying a world-wide reputation for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. As a small campus, we offer both traditional and nontraditional students an intimate and supportive learning environment with strong ties to the surrounding community. At the same time, the students have direct access to the extensive educational resources and services of all of The Pennsylvania State University. Primary duties include: create e-learning presentations and interactive multimedia components for online and traditional courses with PowerPoint and Articulate 360; utilize Canvas or other learning management systems for online courses; record and edit videos, photographs and audio for training techniques, scripted scenarios, and profile interviews; organize course components for DVDs/Flash drives for instructors and students in face-to-face courses; and identify, develop and implement technology and hardware solutions. Must be willing to assume other duties as assigned. The position requires knowledge of various computer operating systems and web browsers with competencies in areas including but not limited to: Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate; Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Premiere Pro); Camtasia; Microsoft Office; graphic design; and basic instructional design knowledge. The Multimedia Specialist will be required to meet strict deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks with a focus on thoroughness, accuracy and quality control in a team setting. Typically requires an Associate's degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Canvas or other learning management systems is a plus. Basic Information Technology knowledge, HTML skills and data analysis are a plus. Writing, editing and research are a plus. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
