Description

The Project Management Office (PMO) in Penn State Information Technology (IT)/Infrastructure is seeking a highly motivated and creative Information Technology (IT) Project Manager with a proven record of success driving high visibility projects to successful completion. IT Project Managers work closely with IT leadership and key business stakeholders in the planning, resourcing, and execution of projects within Penn State IT and partnering units throughout the university. We seek candidates who will help advance the maturity of project management practice and play an active role in the evolution of the PMO as it provides strategic as well as tactical support to the Vice President of IT and the broader Penn State IT community. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Private as well as public sector experience is a plus, along with a working understanding of IT Service management concepts and experience working with OCM, BRM and BPA professionals. Experience working with an enterprise PMIS is preferred. Experience managing a full spectrum of software, integration, infrastructure, and business process projects a major plus. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Project Management methodologies and hybrid approaches, experience working with the Software Development Lifecycle, and proven success delivering outcomes aligned with client expectations. Excellent leadership, communication and relationship skills, analytical capabilities, and the ability to lead complex projects are key to success in this role. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
