Description

The Department of Mathematics is seeking an administrative professional to serve as the liaison for short-and long-term, domestic and international, visitors. The Administrative Support Assistant will be responsible for tracking, processing visa applications, and managing the internal processes related to visitors for the department. This position is responsible for coordinating visitor office space, coordinating travel, honorarium, and reimbursements for visitors. Additional responsibilities are reconciling purchasing cards and processing faculty reimbursements, as needed. This position will serve as the backup for the department Finance Assistant/Facilities Coordinator and may also provide faculty support. The successful candidate will serve as a backup for department conferences, the hiring of graders/proctors, and serve as a resource on reimbursement processing procedures. Additional duties may be required on an as needed basis. The working hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel is preferred. The successful candidate must be a positive, self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment. A strong commitment to working in a diverse, inclusive environment is necessary. Attention to detail, flexibility, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task are critical for this position.
