The College of Nursing at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Scholar to join Dr. Nikki Hill`s research team and participate in ongoing research. Under the guidance of Dr. Hill and other faculty mentors, the Postdoctoral Scholar will develop knowledge and skills to successfully transition to an independent investigator role. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work on a NIA-funded study (R01) examining the precursors to modifiable risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease, contribute to scholarly pursuits within the College, and develop an independent research program related to promoting the health and well-being of older adults. The Scholar will assist with: project management, coordinating communications across the research team regarding project-related tasks, maintaining internal analytic procedures and quality control, data management, data analysis (including multilevel modeling) and interpretation, manuscript development and preparation, preparing and delivering scientific presentations for regional, national, and international conferences, and working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to practice teaching skills through mentored opportunities with faculty, join the Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence, and develop a research proposal related to aging science and/or older adult health. Recent (within 2 years) PhD in Nursing is required. The ideal candidate is self-directed, works well in an interdisciplinary team, and has a demonstrated commitment to advancing nursing science, including a beginning peer-reviewed publication record.
